Day 2

English:

Today, London woke us up with unique spring breeze along with a warm sun. After breakfast, we started our guided tour of London. Our first stop was in front of the Royal Albert Hall where we took a group picture. For this picture, we stood behind the Saint George’s Statue made of gold. Afterwards, we were given one hour to shop in Harrod’s, where every three students went separately. We tried to make the best out of it in so little time. Some of us ate while others shopped till they dropped. Because of the so little time and the many shops surrounding this fancy place, two students, unable to manage their time, ended up being late. However, we were still able to make it on time to the 11’30 change of guards in the Buckingham Palace which lasted for around 20 minutes – a tight schedule indeed. We continued our tour by bus. As we uncovered the ravishing and historical city of London, we spun upon places where movies and TV series were shot, such as the episode of Ross’ wedding in London in the classic series Friends, the last scene of Notting Hill, V for Vendetta where Parliament Square was blown up, along with Big Ben, our next stop.

There, we saw a couple of billboards about the situation in Syria which raised a comfort and proud feeling in our hearts. Later, we took a tour on London Eye where we had an amazing view of the many landmarks in London. This enjoyable ride actually gave us a bird’s eye view of the places we already visited.

Last but not least, we had the privilege to attend the astonishing musical, Mamma Mia. The cast belt out the wonderful ABBA numbers which made us dance in the aisles. These few hours of pure enjoyment left us speechless.
